    hey,

Iv looked on the forum for questions but havent found any.
Basically im going to get a vtr soon and im going to get high lift cams
    (hopefully) as im fed up with a 1.1 106 = @

I just wanted to know what cams would suit everyday driving. also what other mod will i have to do in order to get the max outta the cams. in know about manifold and the induction side of it.
The cams wont be a sudden thing once i get the car as i wont have the money. not worried about paying someone as i can do it myself..

    Cheers

Ideally to get the best out of them you'll need a standalone engine managment system or at least a remap.

Im sure you'll get a lot of people telling you this, but imo its pointless camming a vtr, you'll only get it to about standard vts power. Why not just buy a vts?

    thanks for the input

How much do remaps cost ?
Im happy with that, im not wanting loads of power just looking to mod something worth modding, i would get a vts if it wasnt for the stupid insurance companies wanting thousands.

Also what insurance companies do you recommend ?

    Cheers

    Catcams 708's
    Kent Pt51's
    Piper 285's
    Newmans Ph3's

All the most popular cams for every day fast road use.

Brentacre is the best insurance company imo.

    Im 22 with a vts and i pay 450ish tpft on a 130bhp limit

so probably add another 100 for another 20bhp or something?

Brand new cams for a vts your looking at around the 300 mark, probably about the same for a remap. Best off with a standalone ecu like a predator they're around 5-600 i think.

I've just bought a set of regrinds for 180, and i'm fitting them this weekend and running without a remap. Lets hope all goes well

I Got a receipt for a remap with my vts, it cost 500 quid. You could probably get one a Fair bit cheaper that that that. Also, you cant get a predator for a 8v yet iirc
