after having an both changed there battery light still flickers at higher revs and 70% stays on when driving normal,,

i took it to a couple of garages and they both saying the Volts is jumping all over the place but staying around 14volts something like that.

i cleaned the battery terminals etc but still its staying on what else could be the problem,

Make sure that there is minimal voltage drop between the following....

    1. Alternator body and the battery negative terminal.

Do this by putting multimeter pos/red probe on alternator body and the neg/black on the battery negative post.

    2. Alternator output heavy cable to battery positive.

Same procedure as above but performed on cable, not body.

If the above is good, use a test lamp or connect a 5W bulb to the battery and connect the other end to the alternator where the smaller cable is connected.

With the engine not running the bulb will light. Engine running the bulb should go straight out. With the bulb still connected and engine running, the voltage should be steady.

Out of interest, does the battery light illuminate with ignition on, engine not running?
