is my car being restricted

   my car has an enclosed ecosse induction kit with a 4-2-1 manifold, de-cat and a magnex back box but it has the really big box in the middle of the exhaust system
   
   will that middle box be restricting my car? would it make a noticable difference if i got a cat back straight through pipe?

   It will be causing some resistance.. take it off and put a some pipe there.. see what chnages you get.. Then if theres an improvement the might be worth investing in a straight through custom system.. So you wil just have a pip from your manifold straight to back box

   what do you mean but a some pipe there? i can get the pipe that goes from my decat to the backbox which is straight through with no boxes in it so i might fit it and see if it makes a difference, if not always sell it on i suppose?

   Depends how they designed the backbox. If its straight through then its unlikely to make much difference. if they shrink the bore slightly to force the gases into the silencer then you may benefit.

   it will make a difference on pick up when on the gas pedal. but yeah for the sake of 55 quid from kam racing woth a try if not stick it on the for sale section some will snap it up for about the same price you paid.

    Its a silencer, shouldnt really restrict performance tbh, as it saves your exhaust sounding loud as fook, but whatever floats your boat really if you want it loud, or keep it as it is.

    Throttle response in my Saxos has always felt a bit more urgent with a middle box in the exhaust.
