Engine oil help

   What oil shall i use?
   
   I've got 10w-40,
   
   and im not sure what oils in my car at the moment. if its 5w-40 in at the moment, and i top it up with 10w-40 will it matter?

   forgot about oil mate
   but why dont u just drain it out and then refill engine?

   undo the sump plug on the bottom, let it all drain
   
   fill it back up checking the dipstick as you go

   Mixing them won't do any harm if it's just a small top up. Although if you need to top it up a fair bit, you might as well drop the stuff out and do a full oil change.
   
   10W-40 semi synth is what most places use for TU engines. Some people choose to use 5W-30, totally up to you.
   
   Do a search on here for 'service guide' - pretty helpful if you've never done a service before.
