new alternator good battery still going flat

   i recently bought 1.5 diesel car pressumed the alternator was bad as it only gave out 12.85 volts when running, no battery light was on, but worked on start up,so got another from scrap yard........same pressumed i was unlucky so bought a new alternator .........still going flat battery charges and stays charged if not used ,swoped battery still no diffrence........so to sum up
   no battery warning light illuminated but works on start up,
   alternators all wont give over 12.8 volts
   2 batterys both charge and stay charged if car not run,
   dont think theres a drain
   please help...........

   Check for perm live. Pas pump, amp, stereo, lights, alarm etc
   
   check earths and the circuit between alternator, starter motor and bTtery.

   Sounds like you got short some were on the car!! that will drain your battery in nexted to no time!! seen this fer few times on different french cars.....

   might seem stupid, but also check if the light in your boot goes out when closing it, switch might be gone. (speaking from my own experience)

   thanks guys fault was a bad earth,found by using a jump lead attached to alternator body and the volts increased

   nice find, mines was doing the same, was the boot light lol
