#2chuck some redex in. cat in good nick?
-
#3that doesnt work
-
#4which part of the emissions is it failing??
as more than one area is tested and each have there own way to be sorted -
#5and how badly did it fail? Borderline cars I have found can be got through with some decent fuel, redex and things like cleaning the airfilter / induction / breather system and a good thrash. Give them the car warmed up as catalytic converters need a bit of temperature to work effectively.

#6Stop throwing your money into mot's without solving the problem.. Get then to quote you how much to fix it... Or at least tell you how to fix eg parts needed..
Fix it.. Retest.. Pass..

#7Cats buggered???

#8when was it last serviced?
-
#9i think you will be needing a new cat by the sound of it.
-
#10normal explination of failure on emissions is either the car or the lamda are fubar
-
#11hey, I got a new cat today from work for £33. I put a new lamda sensor in last time. Hopfully its just this cat. Il put it on tomorrow before work then retest if it fails again there takin the piss. Its just fails on Co2.

#12how old is the cat ? sounds like they're not giving it enough time to get nice and hot
-
#13The cats off a V reg westcoast. It was gettin hot as i kicked its head in. But this new cat should do the trick. If not im screwed
-
#14how old is the air filter?
-
#16The cat was just on the car when i got it. Everything is sorted now i think, just need to get it retested. ona get a second hand air flow meter that might be the problem. il let you know how i get on with it.
