3 stud wheels!

  1. #1
Basically I really don't want to be sitting on standard wheels when I'm driving, got a R reg 1.1i (pics on my other thread) and need to find some 3 stud wheels! I've had a look on ebay and lost a bid on some the other day. Good news is I'm getting given a set of 3 stud which are not too bad but in late january / early feb

Is there any sites or places that could help me out, E.g. I was told I could do a 3 to 4 stud conversion? Is this easy?

Someone else told me that if I wash down my standard wheels, then colour code them to the car when I drop it 50mm all round it will look nice, has anyone done this before?

    Many thanks, D

its about what you like mate. Personaly i cant afford any alloys yet so i just removed the horible trims and paintd the steels gloss black. Its a blue 1.1 lowerd 40mm, i quite like it as a temporary thing to be honest

Yeh cheers mate, I'm thinking of colour coding my steelies to the car (white) on the lip, then black inside...getting it powder coated for cheap so may aswell give it ago!

you can change from a 3 stud to a 4 stud i think you need the suspension struts for the front with 4 studs and not sure on the back wether its a whole new 4 stud axle or it can be done without changing it but im sure someone can shed some ligth on it for you

ahhh okey cheers! looks like a long trip to go down converting it, so i'm probably going to stick to the 3 studs, spray the steelies for now and await new wheels in the new year!
