Is it common for the washer pump to randomly stop working? Mine isnt working so i thought the fuse may have gone but checked it and its fine. Looks like im going to have to replace the pump

My dads an electrician ill get him to test the pump for me, when you remove the pump does the water bottle empty?
  10. #10
remove the bottle so you can remove the pump
  11. #11
How do you get to the bottle and pump? I presume its above the inner wheel arch?

bump how do you remove the pump

to take the bottle out you just unscrew the top part (where u fill it with water) and the bottle will drop, you need to take the arch lining out to get to the bottle, the pump is just pushed into the bottle with a rubber bung, if your replacing the pump, make sure you get one with the right electrical connector on it, i got one off ebay and it had a differnt connector and i ended up having to solder the wires to the pump

Thought I might as well bump this thread up instead of making a new one.

I've got a 2001 y reg Furio and the washer pump has gone on it. Does this pump have the right connector for the car? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Twin-Outlet-Wa...ht_1817wt_1139

yes mate. i changed mine after i started this thread and it was the pump that had gone. Was easy to change too, just removed the wheel arch pulled the water line off let it drain then pulled it out and swapped it over, job done.
