Ok to fiberglass or better welding?

Right. I'm in the process of stripping the vts for track. Taking out the plastics in the rear i found a hole in the arch above the fuel inlet. I have some fiberglass at home and was wondering if this would be ok to use? Or am i better getting someone to weld a plate over it?
I'm not too bothered on how it will look, i just dont want it to get worse.

Any help/ advice would be appreciated.

    Cheers

    Oh, pics of offending hole...

weld it glass is a bodge and wont stop it coming back the best way to sort it is to cut it out and weld a patch into the hole you cut out.

Pic doesnt work for me. But without seeing it I would still say get someone to weld a plate behind after grinding all the rust out then use fibreglass and filler on the inside to smooth it ready for spraying. If your going to spray it that is.
