raceland manifold oil light is on! Help

  1. #1
i have just fitted my raceland 4 2 1 manifold and i have a problem, the car drives fine and everything but my oil light is on, would it affect the day to day running of the car? such as fuel concumption?

check your oil, if its got engough oil in it should be fine pal. no idea why the light is on though.

fitting a 4 branch will make it worse on fuel regardless. but i wouldnt quote me on that as ive never done it, just word from my mates with there saxo's/106's.

I would suggest that is a coincidence as the exhaust is completely separate from oil. Unless you have a mk2 and didn't buy the mk1 oil filter re-location kit?

If you did re-locate the oil filter you have done something wrong.. wouldn't risk driving it as it might not be dispersing oil correctly

also the handbrake light is on aswel, ive done the filter re location but ive fitted the sensor in a different place to were it shows in the guide, im asuming the sensor isnt earthing properly or somthing so the sensor isnt working while bringing the handbrake light on aswel :s confusing,
i though it would be fine to drive as only the sensor isnt working and not the oil pump

Well if the oil is getting around the engine properly it will be fine, but how will you know if the oil pressure drops now if its constantly on? Wait for it to go bang? lol

no reason for the engine to go bang, anyway just put another engine in there, cheap enough to buy, and ohhh yes the fuel concumption goes very bad lmao

i did this and i have the EXACT same problems oil light and handbrake light someone pleeeease help us out somone must know, felch any ideas?

was pretty easy to fit, make sure uve got a starting m8 tap, its a tappered tap, makes it easy to tap the hole, also you need to run a 9 mm or 10mm drill bit just to loosen the holes on the manifold for easyer fitting on the studs.

You will need to cut 2 of the studs shorter aswel due to the studs catching the manifold, bottom left stud and botton on the third pipe.

Get the nutts off the studs if ur re using and screw the studs into the block.

For the sleeve i used a cooper piper and insulation tape, make sure u put right lambda sensor in the manifold aswel, (one thats at the top of the old manifold)

I think the problem we having is that we have put the oil sensor just above the oil filter and not in the actual engine block, im gonna try and move mine on the weekend ill let ya know if it works

I think handbrake light comes on due to sharing the same earth as the oil sensor or somthing stupid like that

    pm'd ya aswel about driveshaft

The handbreak light doubles up as a 'stop' light, which will come on if the car thinks there is a problem with the oil...

So the lambda sensor what is at the top of the normal CAT you screw that into the hole at the bottom of the manifold and the one that was originally screwed into the bottom of the CAT you place that near the battery and keep it secure so it can get air to it yes???.
