Question about my car height

  1. #1
For some reason I noticed on the rear that the space is shorter between the wheel and the the arch compared to the front.

I measured it earlier from the top of the tyre to the plastic arch. Even though each side was the same as the other, the space on the front wheels was about an inch larger than the back.

I think this has been like this since i've had it (over 15months) is this normal ?

heres mine from the side with standard height.

    hope this helps
  3. #3
I couldnt really tell from that because an inch is hard to spot unless great light and maybe abit closer lol
  4. #4
oh right yeh lol. my bad iam half asleep lol.
  5. #5
I just got told the back is meant to be slightly lower than the front on saxos lol
  6. #6
the bak is slightly higher than the front on standard height ones its ment to give it an agressive stance
  7. #7
my back is an inch lower than the front (the space between the wheel and arch) was told this is normal

I thought that was because you have greater weights in the back off a car? give the suspension a bit of clearance with a full load? as it would of been standard?

Basically this. Nothing wrong with it i think. the front cant get bottomed out because most of the weight gets transfered to the back when fully loaded, so thats why it normal has a bigger gap to compensate

So the fact that the gap is smaller on the back than the front is not normal ?

if your ride height is normal. then its fine, because the back is much heigher than the front anyway

yeah it looks level from side on, was just confused why the gap on the back was smaller than the front

mines the same mate . ill measure it for you tomorrow to see if its the same. but im sure its ment to be like that
  14. #14
im confussed now, i thought you just said its normal to have a bigger gap at the back than the front to compensate. or did you mean the front ? lol
  15. #15
confused my self now... ill measure mine first thing in the morning. i know the back on a saxo it ment to be slightly higher but the wheel wells are deeper on the fronts
  16. #16
ah right im not on about the wells as such, just the small gap between the top of the tyre and the plastic factory bodykit arch
  17. #17
oh right i get you. im going to measure mine now! lol
  18. #18
    ideal lol
  19. #19
okay so, mine was 3 1/4 inches high on the front, and 2 1/2 on the back.

so that means yours is basically the same just dropped a bit more on the bad than the front
  20. #20
so your back is slightly lower than the front like mine, good stuff.
however my front was 2.5 inch and back 1.5 inch lol, maybe its been slightly lowered
  21. #21
yeh . probably just dropped a bit mate. ive never had mine fully loaded since ive had it.

so nothing to worry about then? not a sign the suspension is on its way out
  23. #23
Nah wouldnt have thought so mate .
  24. #24
    hope you're right!

most saxo's and 106's are higher at the back when standard anyway arent they? quite sure theres nothing wrong with that pal, mine was exactly the same
