Raceland Mani... Any good?

Just looking at the Raceland 4-2-1 Mani for the vts. Seems pretty cheap compared to the rest of them.
Would it be wort saving extra for a more expensive option?
Has anyone got one fitted? And what do you think?
    Cheers

mine gave good gains and was not a problem to fit.

Yeah just had another look and it stets that some modification might need doing? Or did it fit straight on? Oil filter ok etc?

well think you may have something on a saxo, not 110% sure.

    search, theres loads of threads,

overall there good for the money so get one, no messing if fitting to a vts..

Cheers. I've heard of problems with the oil filter. I'll have a search and a read.

Mines fine on my vts. Not had to modify the filter, and with a decat and magnex exhaust I gained 10bhp

Is yours a phase 2? I thought you had to move the filter on them?
Mines already decatted with a racelsnd filter so i'd be hoping for 8-12bhp increase in total.
Have you heat wrapped yours? Does it make much of a difference?

Mines a phase 2 but is in the cross over period. My filter hasnt had to move at all.

    What exhaust are you using?
Heat wrapping will just help to keep the engine temperature down. So wont make a huge difference but will help.

i got a vtr soon to be droppin a vts into it and planning one of these manifolds would i need anymodification as it will fit to the vts engine alright as you lot have said but would anything of the standerd vtr parts in engine bay get in the way ?
  11. #11
Iirc it should go straight in. Depends which of the vts lumps your getting though if you need to move the oil filter or not.

There very good for the money and the differences in power gains over the more expencime manifolds are unnoticeable. Had no probles with mine whatsoever. Get one

Unless you've got serious mods I wouldn't go for anythin more expensive than a raceland

Right, cheers guys. Its a V - 2000 so i'm guessing its the crossover year. Not too sure what the exhaust is as it was on when i got it. Possibly a magnex one though but not 100% on that. Its also been de-catted too if that helps?
I think i'll go for it next pay day, also heat wrap whilst its off to save me any ball ache in the future... 2 birds one stone and all that

sorry to hijack, but is it pretty easy fitting a raceland mani to a mk2 vtr? Can you do it without removing the engine etc, and at home? Along with my dad I'm pretty confident we can do most stuff with the car but need to know if this is a garage job before buying!

can be done at home if you're mechanically minded. theres a guide on here somewhere
