    Alright guys, bit of help?
cleaned out i.c.v and most of the intake system today trying to sort the random reving, it took the lumpy idle away and the car starts better with the new fuel pump installed yesterday.
but it KEEPS reving high randomly for a few seconds after ive come off the accelerator!! any ideas? cheers guys

p.s checked the cable its running smooth and returning to position when it should but revs stay up

I have a similar problem and have just posted about it. I replaced my ICV and it has made bugger all difference. It ran great for two days and now the problem is back. Thinking possibly lambda or maf but put a post up to find out what other people think it could be.

Disconnect your temp sensor if it doesnt change the idleing thats your problem.
If it changes reconnect then repeat with maf sensor, lamba sensor on so on.

try taking you air filter off from the throttle body and clean inside trottle body, spray some dw40 and wipe down,if tht dont work it could be ur air flow sensor if uv got an uprated air filter

yeah its got a cone on it, just astandard k&n from previous owner, the breather hose that comes out of the engine goes into the air filter tube, could this cause it? if so ive already bought a seperate filter for the breather just not fitted yet! will try the temp sensor and others if thats not it. cheers lads
