Engine Problem

   Basically engine is running really rough on my VTR. Just had the headgasket done, not sure if it is to do with this, but the car is really shaky on idle, has alot less power most of the time, and sometimes barely any power upto 3000rpm.
   
   Uses alot more fuel than it should, not sure if this is to do with it or me having to put my foot down more to get some power.
   
   Also sounds like exhaust is blowing when idling, but isn't.
   
   Any help appreciated, thanks in advance.

   was cam timing set up properly when head was done?

   I'd hope so! But does it sound like this could be the problem?

   Yes definitely sounds that way to me! Possibly be coilpack too. Chances are its the headgasket as the belt and that all has to come off

   if cam timing is out then you get all sorts of odd symptoms, such as exhaust type noises from the inlet area (exhaust gases trying to come out of inlet as exhaust valves aren;t opening at correct time), running rough at lower revs, poor performance because inlet valves aren't opening at correct time so engines not getting enough to breathe,and it'll drink fuel like a mad thing. probably only a tooth or two out but its enough

   Any idea how much this'll cost? Is it worth checking the coilpack first?

   to check timing approx 20 pounds, if you've got a spare coil pack give that a whirl first,its free!
