I am looking to sell my VTR next year, everything on it is pratically mint the only thing that would reduce the sale is the engine, its on 104K would it be worth dropping a 60K engine in it
Current Engine on 104K Is it worth Dropping in a 60K engine

#2yes... if it is cheap

#3It could help when you come to sell it, however milege means nothing depending who drove the car with the 60k engine in.

my 1.1 had 92k on the clock when i bought it. its on 127k now, still runs, just a few niggles to sort out (usual oil galley leak, needs a new thermostat housing!)
if you buy an engine thats been ragged to death for 60k miles, it could be no better. 104k aint much tbh -
#5mileage isnt just about the engine, even if the engine runs mint my main concern is knackered components like shafts hubs bushes etc.
if the engines good i wouldnt bother messing with it -
#6how much mileage do you expect to clock up in a year?

#7If it runs fine --don,t wte your money ,it will make sod all difference to value of car1 user thanked this post:

#8Id say keep the 104k engine in, sometimes when selling a car, a replacement engine would put some people off. I know I didnt look at a few cars because they had replaced the engine before.

#9my got 175.000 miles not a problem
