Compression test

  1. #1
    Hi all,

I am currently writing a report for uni on a compression test i carried out on a 1.1 106 (black top engine).

I was just wondering if someone could explain to me in detail the result i got.

Basicly cylinders one, two and four are around the same compression rate but cylinder three is compressing 3 bar higher than the others.

Any help would be much appreciated

    Thanks in advance

maybe piston rings fooked on 3 cylinders?

    cheers for the imput

But if the piston ring where fooked then there would be a lower compression wouldn't there?

I was thinking if there was a build up of carbon around the exhaust valve which might make it harder to push the excess gases through?

compression testing test's the cylinder on a squeeze stroke so it will be a build up of shit or carbon in the cylinder or oil in that cylinder causing the pressure to be raised in number 3.
