#2with coilover i think you can control ride high and how much they dampen the ride
-
#3If you lower the car by 50mm, then it's adviseable to buy uprated shocks/dampers.
What size wheels do you have? If you have 15's, you shouldn't have any rubbing. If you have 16's, then you will.
Coilovers are if you are wanting to adjust the ride height on a regular basis. They can lower your car down to practically anything you want hence the price. They're not really worth it if you're just wanting to lower the car 50mm and keep it at that.
How about looking at buying a suspension kit as opposed to just springs? Some kits already come up with uprated shocks/dampers. -
#4bascily im looking at a cheap alternative how low could i go with just springs or do i need shocks/dampers no matter what
-
#540mm will be alright on just springs mate
-
#6As above. If you're wanting a cheap solution, then lower it 40mm. Springs will cost you about £50 max. Fitting can be around £120, which includes front and rear.
But remember... you pay for what you get. -
#7thanks mack 40mm it may well be then
-
#8go down what you want im down 60 on springs and so are alot of members
-
#9yeah you can go down further on springs mate, but is adviseable that if going down further you uprate the shocks etc
-
#10is that springs on its own? doesnt that effect ride quality severly
-
#11no matter how you go it will effect your ride, you will feel jsut how shit uk roads realy are
-
#12i'm down 40mm mate, you notice the difference but not that bad, my mate is down 60 and i think it's too hard for me personally so i'd stick with 40mm
-
#13i think im going 40mm to play it safe. if im not happy with that ill buy a suspension kit at a later date
