#2When was it replaced?
Was it new, second hand or refurbed? -
#3jack it up and check for play, its possible that you could of bent the stub pin, if youve hit a kerb etc, you will know if you jack it and check it!

#4Off topic but i got a refurb axel off you guys at IMAxles a few months ago. Fitted it all dandy and im getting play on the passenger wheel now. Im going to put 2 sets of bearing in there and hope it hasnt marked the stub pin. Got any tips for me when putting it back together to get it tight and play free? PM me
-
#5How much play have you got? I was told they all have a little bit in them anyway
-
#6Only a little bit. But enough to notice holding the wheel at 12 and 6. Slight knock
-
#7Mines just been refurbed incl new pins and has a little bit that you can feel with both wheels off the floor. But only about 1mmish
Also on a side note do both the wheels have to be off of the floor to feel the play? -
#8ive had the car jacked up and there is little/ no play but wheels still bent in a bit :/
-
#9Have you contacted IM axles regarding this?Quote:Off topic but i got a refurb axel off you guys at IMAxles a few months ago. Fitted it all dandy and im getting play on the passenger wheel now. #10Yeah, cant feel the play when its on the floor. Only about 1/2mm of play there, enough to feel it.Quote:Mines just been refurbed incl new pins and has a little bit that you can feel with both wheels off the floor. But only about 1mmish

Can be just the shape of the body work against it. When mine was first done i kept looking back and thinking that they are still bent in. Optical illusion against the shape of the bodyQuote:ive had the car jacked up and there is little/ no play but wheels still bent in a bit :/

#11hope it aint on its way out
and as 4 it leaning in the near side isnt half as much as the drivers :/ -
#13I got a refurb axel off im axels recently, sure it's a 12 month warranty or 20,000 miles, whichever comes first
-
#1420,000 miles isnt much really.
-
#15I'd say 12 months isn't a lot as I only do about 5,000 miles a year in the vts lol
-
#16Im talking with Martin from ImAxels at the moment, and will feed back on what he says
-
#17Sam's is still under warranty, ive said to him, if there is something wrong, we will replace it no problem.
-
#18How much warranty do you give, just to clarify?
-
#191 years, providing you havnt had a crash or anything like that. Just keep the receipt with the car and we also have records here.
-
#21Yeah that is fair.Quote:Sam's is still under warranty, ive said to him, if there is something wrong, we will replace it no problem.
Was about to come here and post what ImAxles have said but seems like Martin has beaten me too it.
Im taking the trailing arms off asap, if they are marked at all ill be sending a pic to Martin @ ImAxles and sorting a replacement. Cant fault the guys there at all. Very helpful and professional.
Sorry to drag the thread off topic a tad but if your beam is on its way out then get in touch with these guys and they will sort you out. Not to mention a discount for Saxperience
Sam
