My engine sounds like a Harley Davidson :(

   Hey guys,
   
   So basically about 3months ago my engine developed this odd ticking noise, as the engine was running when i started to rev it, it would tick faster until i got to about 20-25moh an then it would stop, well yday on my way home from the gf's i was driving along and the next think i heard was this really loud like puffing/chugging noise, coming from my engine And no matter what speed im going it stays and its VERY loud! If my revs get too high theres a loud poping noise. Whenever i have to stop the car will stay ticking over but it shudders like a bitch! And then pulling of can be abit slow.
   
   Any ideas? Im thinking Manifold problem? I finish early tomoz so im hoping to take it to a garage tomoz after work and hopefully they can look at it and diagnose the problem asap.

   Manifold or downpipe most probably could also be the coil pack not firing right on 1 plug causing it to misfire.

   does it sound like its knocking? from what youve described your big ends have gone, sounds like you not had much oil in and its fucked

   Well i took it to the garage and it turned out to be a loose spark plug. She's back to being good as new, Well minus the few issues from the MOT failure lol!

   Also if it was the big ends the engine would make a rumbling sound.
