    Evening,

Hoping some of your experienced peeps can throw your opinions on this one. I've had my MK2 VTR parked in my garage all weekend, goes to work Mon morning and as soon as I started the engine I could hear that dreaded water gushing noise from around the drivers footwell area. Alarm bells rang straightaway as this happened on another Saxo I had and it soon turned out to be the Head Gasket. Anyhoo's I daren't drive it so got it booked into the garage for this morning. They called me this afternoon to say there is no sign of HG failure. No contamination in the oil/coolant etc. They did say they bled the system and there was a bit of air that escaped so I presumed that could of been the problem. They also drained the coolant and flushed the radiator at my request as the coolant hasn't been changed in the 2.5 years that I've owned the car. Picks the car up at 5pm and as soon as I start it I can hear the gushing noise again which goes away after a few lights revs. So if the garage say there is no sign of the HG going what else could it be? Pump? Thermostat? I'm worried as I have to drive 30 miles each day to and from work so need my car. If it helps at all my temp gauge normally always sits at about 1mm over halfway. I noticed when driving it to the garage this morning and when picking it up the temp gauge slowly rises to just above half way but then seems to drop slightly which it's never done before. What do you reckon?

    Cheers guys

I rekon there is still air in the system, let it warm up and open the bleed nipple up. make sure you turn the heater on hot and full so that it opens up.

That's what I thought. Would I need to open up all 3 bleed points and use the header tank etc?

I'm thinking It needs bleeding again. Don't know if the garage used a header tank so going to get one and bleed the system again. I'm confused as to whether to do it hot or cold though. Some of the guides on here say to do it with the engine on with the blowers on full speed/heat setting and some say to do it cold??

Was confused mate as there was a few guides some say hot and some say cold. I just been round to my brothers as he has a Haynes manual and that says to do it cold so guess I've just answered my own question lol
