fuel tank heat shield removal?

   Hi guys
   just wondering if it would be safe to remove that foil heat shield under the petrol tank where the exhaust sits and instead wrap my exhaust with heatwrap in that area?
   
   just wondering as mine is butcherd.

   Wouldn't personally chance it Fisher, you never know if the wrap will fall off one day and you not notice, then boom!!

   ripped mine off and it is still fine to this day
