Are all rear beams the same???

   My rear beam is fuked so i picked up another at the scrappies 2day.Problem being mine is a disc brake beam and the other is drum brakes.
   
   Can i just strip the beams and switch everything over??Are they all the same??
   
   Will i need any special tools??Hub puller??

   Got the cables on my car anyway and will try removing the pipes best i can and re-use them.Got pipe anyway if i need it.
   
   So once ive removed the drums and the hubs,i just remove the hubs and carriers from my car and fit them onto the other axle then build it all up??

   not sure if you can remove the hubs and swap it all.
   
   and no, the cables for drum brakes are different, and the pipes are longer/shorter/different somehow, not entirely sure :-/

   You've mis-read it bud.
   
   Ive got a Vtr,disc rear axle that is fuked,and ive just picked up a drum axle.Wanting to make the good drum axle into a disc axle.
   
   Even if need be,ive got both sets of handbrake cables anyway incase i just use the drum axle.

   Why not bother??Dosnt look like too much hassle if its possible.

    Nearly all done.Just need to drill 3 bolts out to get the caliper carrier off as the heads have rounded off.
    
    The stub pins were shorter too so had to knock them out and use mine.

    Yeah was a piece of piss to switch everything over.The rounded off bolts took most of the time.Even fitting it back to the car on my lone-some wasnt too hard.15mins and it was all bolted up.Fuked the bleed nipple on 1 of my calipers though so had to nip thro to U-pull 2day.Got 1 off a Xsara.
