Completely sealing sunroof

After following the how to guide on here about leaking sunroofs my car still leaked yesterday morning. To be sure it was the sunroof I taped a bin liner on there joy no leak(probably look like a right dork driving around with that on the roof). So I went to my local A1 store and a bloke said he used this Polysulphide Sealant. I'm not worried about sealing the whole sunroof up is this a good sealant before I start

It's the sunroof when it's shut I can pull the rubber out of the way and poke a finger out plus when it dose leak there is water all round the glass on the inside. I think this sealant is the wrong type as it say's construction grade on the instruction sheet. Anyone use anything else?

Would it be better to get a new seal/fix mechanism? Putting sealer everywhere sounds like a lot of effort, especially if it does not work and you nee to dig it all out again.

Sealing the sunroof completely in isn't going to be much of a problem thinking of using tigerseal. At the moment its got black tape and with the 2 and a half days down pour its completely dry. Wouldnt mind a new seal and that just wary of the problems as i found out my mate suffered twice with his vtr a few years back he replaced a leaking sroof then it did it again so he sold the car
