mot due :/

i have my Mot due soon and i am worried about it failing on my exhaust. :/
i have a straight through exhaust with no catalic converter.
done a emmisions test and the result is that emmisions are fine and will pass...
but people have been saying that if the mot examiner isnt having a good day he can fail me for not having a catalic converter...:/
is this true or can i pass if my emmisions are fine no metter if i have a cat converter or not
    cheers

It shouldnt pass without a cat converter should it ? If you have a mk2 Vtr then the cat converter is inside the manifold and cant be seen from under the car

If it pass's a emissions test then i shouldnt see why thier will be any problems

well it passed the emmisions without cat on MOT but failed on a shitty little dent on a break hose! Took the car straight to a citreon dealr mechanic who took one look at it and couldn't beleive it.
The part cost me £10.50 and a few beers for my dad to fit and bleed with my help may i add.
I'll post a pic tonight of the failing part and let you post your views on it!!!
Retest on Tuesday "AT A COST OF £18.50"
I'll be taking the part removed into the test centre as there is nothing wrong with it at all. I'll post their comments after i get the "Pass Cert"

    someone please explain why???

Pipe does not leak, the brown mark in the middle of dimple is dirt not rusted metal/ steel.

Seems like you've been really unlucky that doesn't look bad at all.

nothing to be thankfull about mate, i look after my car all the time, don't rag it, and fix everthing when there is a problem. The car had a pre mot check and passed with no faults, a few monors but all was rectified before test.
Like i said before the citreon dealer could not believe it when i showed them what it failed on.

Learnt that cars are not tested for a cat in N.I as long as they pass the emissions test.

I can totally understand it failing an MOT for something that could be deamed as dangerous to other road users or myself but this just seems pathetic.

sack it mate it cost you £29 and the cost of the MOT and now youve got another 12 months worry free. If its really biting at you that much though appeal against the fail sheet all the details are on the back but i almost guarantee youll get no where and they will pull out terms and conditions that state that pinch makes the part defective or liable to fail
