    'Ello Friends...

    I'm talking Manifolds here, What is actually better for gas flow?

    4-2-1 or 4-1?

    Without naming brands, I have one of each and the 4-1 has bigger pipes and I'd of thought it'd be better for gas flow, but I hear from a lot of people that 4-2-1's are better for Gas Flow?

    I can't see how, it has smaller pipes and I'd of thought that gas would slow down when it's meeting from 2 into 1 rather than 4 into 1?

    Does not really work like that. Both can work very well depend how well there designed and matched to your engine.

    Hmmm, That's True, 4-1 is Piper and 4-2-1 is Raceland.

    Both very good I hear?

    I think I'll just experiment with them to see what one works best lol.

    I suspect both will work well so don't think you can go far wrong. That is a great plan given them both a try. If you can blag some cheap rolling road time it may even be worth comparing them both on that. But for a road car you cant go wrong with whatever just feels right to you. Another thing to think of it quality as the raceland ones are quite cheaply made. If there both much of a muchness id probably go with the piper for this reason alone.

    id stick with the piper purely because its piper, sell the raceland

    Agreed, the piper will be far superior in quality. But if you prefer using the raceland one it's still stainless steel so you won't need to worry about rust etc. The piper will just put up with more punishment. And won't crack as easily.

    Thanks guys, I've already bent the Piper a bit where I caught a Level Crossing =/

    larger is not always better. Its about optimising gas velocity. Both are good, the Raceland is cheaply manufactured but as its a copy of the supersprint it performs very well, nearly as good as the supersprint

    i got a 4-1 piper at about 4 k revs gives you a good kick at high revs youl notice the diffrence straight away ! and since ive decatted my car im getting better mpg!

    Yeh the Piper does work well. Makes it should really loud too lol gota love that

    Had a 4-1 piper before and a straight through with magnex and it sounded the tits mate.

    I think I'll use my 4-1 on new Engine
