Pairing key fob

  1. #1
I've bought a re-vamp key fob from ebay replaced circuit board and battery but unsure how to pair with the car as it is not working!

If only the circuit board has been changed (without the reciever module)then it will need to be reprogramme for your car. The only people I know that can do this is Citroen which charge about £130.

Citroen don't charge £130 to programme a key.
They charge either £42.50 or £85 depending on if their labour rate for coding keys is set at 1 (1hour) or 0.5 (30mins)

i;m with your first quote as they wanted same off me, plus said they need car for a day.
cheaper to get after market alarm to be honest.
at the time they quoted me to look at fob repair fob and pair the fob, i could have paid £50 more for the all bells n whistles clifford alarm

Not just the programming. The most they can invoice labour time for coding keys is 1hour. As it actually only takes about 45mins max. 1hours labour is usually £72 +vat at most Citroen & Pug dealers.

They may have only needed the car for a full day to actually find a tech who had the time to do it. Garages don't usually work on a while you wait policy, therefore they tell you they need it for a full day, you drop the car off and they phone you when its done.

i know why i refused to pay it. and the £85 was just too look at fob ad tell me its broken!!!!! went straight across road and got clifford top dog for £50 more fitted. and they also repaired my old original fob for free too. never bother with citroen anymore their prices suck massive balls.
carpet clips only need 4 per car, sorry sir u need to order a bag of 50. so now have 46 spare incase i break em all again

    I can get 4

£85 seems steep to look at a fob. We only charge £45 Diag charge. And if its looking at a fob, I usually just look at it, test it and say 'aye its fucked you need a new one'. Or give a quote if you can do anything with it.
