#2If only the circuit board has been changed (without the reciever module)then it will need to be reprogramme for your car. The only people I know that can do this is Citroen which charge about £130.

#3Citroen don't charge £130 to programme a key.Quote:If only the circuit board has been changed (without the reciever module)then it will need to be reprogramme for your car. The only people I know that can do this is Citroen which charge about £130.
They charge either £42.50 or £85 depending on if their labour rate for coding keys is set at 1 (1hour) or 0.5 (30mins) -
#4Do'h! when i got my quote it was for a new fob and programming it to my car. so about £80-£90 just for the reprogamming.

#5i;m with your first quote as they wanted same off me, plus said they need car for a day.Quote:Do'h! when i got my quote it was for a new fob and programming it to my car. so about £80-£90 just for the reprogamming.
cheaper to get after market alarm to be honest.
at the time they quoted me to look at fob repair fob and pair the fob, i could have paid £50 more for the all bells n whistles clifford alarm -
#6The first quote he put up was a new key, cut & programmed. As he also quotes himself after I pointed outQuote:i;m with your first quote as they wanted same off me, plus said they need car for a day.

The most they can invoice labour time for coding keys is 1hour. As it actually only takes about 45mins max. 1hours labour is usually £72 +vat at most Citroen & Pug dealers.Quote:Do'h! when i got my quote it was for a new fob and programming it to my car. so about £80-£90 just for the reprogamming.
They may have only needed the car for a full day to actually find a tech who had the time to do it. Garages don't usually work on a while you wait policy, therefore they tell you they need it for a full day, you drop the car off and they phone you when its done. -
#7thats what i;m saying the quote i got for the fob to be done was around the £200 mark. that was just for the fob to be done.
£85+vat to look at fob
£105+vat to code to car
why i ended up with after market alarm. citroen are rip off -

£85 seems steep to look at a fob. We only charge £45 Diag charge. And if its looking at a fob, I usually just look at it, test it and say 'aye its fucked you need a new one'. Or give a quote if you can do anything with it.
