Does lowering 40mm affect the camber...

... enough to impact on the even wear of the tyres? I.e now that my car is lowered, will the insides of my tyres wear faster than the outsides?

Since having my car lowered, I have noticed that the wheels spin more readily, I'm guessing because there is now less tyre surface in contact with the road??

have you had the tracking sorted out??

It shouldn't be very noticeable being a McPherson strut.
Double wishbones have more of an effect in this case. That's why they are unequal lengths.

No, just had the springs fitted. There isn't a noticable camber change when looking at it.

Another thing: I wasn't expecting much (if any) improvement in the handling, however i've noticed it's much better! Understeer has been reduced dramatically and feels like it's on rails round corners. Pleased, but surprised!

It will throw the tracking out. You need to get that done

Get it tracked and it will be fine

    Rear will be unaffected

I had tyres fitted today and got the guy to do the tracking as well. However he said it was out but there wasn't anything he could do about it. Will it be sorted when I buy shorter shocks?

There's no reason he couldn't do anything about it (provided he had time etc), if they had the equipment to check the alignment and tell you it was out. It's a 'simple' case of unbolting the locking bolts on the steering arms, and screwing the arms one way or the other to adjust the toe.

I say 'simple', because they're not in the easiest of places to get to, right at the back of the bay, against the bulkhead.
