1.1i to a 1.6 vts?

    Hello

I haave a 1.1i desire 5door, I havnt done anything to it mysellf but previous owner lowerd it and put some nice alloys on it and thats aabout it... did I mention it is gold colour? Interesting

I was thinking i would be fun to get a 1.6 16v engine and put that in the car, I was going to tune the 1.6 engine up depending on how much money I have but since im poor it wont have much done to it straight away.. This would be one of the reasons for buying another 1.6 engine rather than just selling this car and getting a 1.6 vts... I want to beable to drop the 1.6 engine out and do work on it but Ill still beable to use the car is I put the 1.1 engine back in...

Sounds like alot of hassel I know but hey, I want this to be a fun little hobby car and I dont want to rush then engine tuning stages or be sqauted over a bonnet in the freezing cold when I could just tinker away with it up in my shed...

So anyway, My question is, How easy would it be to get a 1.6 engine to fit into my little 1.1 desire saxo..? I read a forum thred on here I think about swoping a 1.1 to a 1.6 and it seemed pretty straight forward... But just wanted to make sure its doable with my desire model...

Id also think it would be cool since its a 5 door flat arch, and they dont do 1.6 versions of these no? ( which is also why im worried about wether the 1.6 will fit in it )

Hope this made some sort of sense...

The engine will fit as far as I am aware. You cant just drop the 1.6 VTS engine inm you need to change the wiring loom etc. You will need the VTS fans, and the return fuel line plumbed in. Not forgetting better brakes!

Then you cant just take the 1.6 engine out, and pop the 1.1 engine in, again, change all the wiring. Its in, or out realistically lol

Well for a start it would be cheaper to just save for a vts. or why not get a write off and just build it back up?
to have a 1.1 desire 5 door with a 1.6 engine in isnt really taking my fancy mate,

dont touch the engine keep it as a run about while you fix the 1.6 up.
tinit the lights windows t cut the badges mesh the grill then youre car will look sound for a run about

I agree. To do it right it'll cost alot more than just buying a vts.

And yeah that would be the other reason for just buying an engine, Id buy really nice racing suspension and brakes rather than just stick with the vts stuff.
