    Right lads

My mate bought a lovely little Mauritius (sp?) Blue Phase one last night..

First thing i noticed was the petrol cap was missing.. and then he said there wasn't a key fob.. interesting eh?

Today he found out only one of the doors "works" off the central locking..

Of course the obvious thing to think of would be that the original keys were stolen/lost and the full keys weren't replaced..

Is there a good solution to the petrol cap being missing? obviously it's a bit daft at the moment as anyone can just nick his fuel... (no i wont post his postcode, and if his fuel is lost i will be looking you scott/dave )

Will a petrol cap off another model that doesn't use a key fit? something like a picasso? I know a long shot..

If not can you get them without the key hole? Maybe just a hole so he can finger it and pop it out...

Let me know if you have experienced this problem, and how you got through it

Get an aftermarket one as these often use a different key.

    Such as

Orginally one key would have done it all - doors, ignition, fuel cap & boot!

    Or even

Has the car been stolen/recovered or a finance repo?

lol Sorry, I apologise, serious answer now

1 thing you could look into mate is getting a lockset from the scrappys (all barels & key). Or just get a fuel cap & key if you can.
Easy solutions really. He may have a diff key for the fuel cap but its not that big an issue.
You can get random fuel caps from Citroen not too much either

you say only one door opens on the central locking? is it the drivers door?
on my golf off my key fob it only opens the drivers door,i thought there was a problem but i found out its programed to only open the drivers, as its for saftey i could change it if i hook up an obd cable with vag com, so maybe your m8s has also been programmed to only open one door? just a thought,
