as above, i know its the wrong section but its got more chance of getting a decent response in here:

they seem to be pretty good, ive just rang them up to ask them if theyll re line my paddle plate, i have a helix heavy duty paddle clutch for the tubby, but the friction plate is quite worn, he's quoted me £50 to recon the friction plate and told me it'll be well capable of taking more then the power im expecting

mods feel free to move this if wished

I've never used them personally but im sure my mate has used them and they where spot on. Looking at the feedback , 1688 and 100% I can't see any problems occuring.
Added them to faves aswell for future reference, so thanks

ai tbh it looks like a VERY good service, the ad listed is for replacement uprated friction plates to fit oe pressure plates, £40 buy now or nest offer is seriousley cheap, 9 times out of ten the pressure plate will still have kkk's of miles left on it when the driven plate fails,

Seems fair enough. Im sure it was them lads that my mate used, he had a clutch for a glanza done somewhere in Leeds, and that name rings a bell. I know the lads that fit that for him provided an A1 service, and the price was spot on too

Do you really want a no brand clutch as a performance item? Many I have seen it would be questionable if they where any better then a standard one. Even the wording on the add would put me off. “we can convert your drive plate or clutch cover to stage 1, 2, 3” Makes it sound like there not even new parts.

i rang him up mate, they offer guarantees, they do new parts and repairs/ servicing

im gonna look into what sort of guarantee they offer, for a refurb of the friction plate @ £50 you cant really go wrong, if it fails then ill want my money back

I wonder how much a AP Racing clutch plate is for the Saxo as there 190mm ones are normally only about £60. That is totally new and not just a standard reconditioned one. But it was for a ford and not Saxo. Did you google the company in the add? There are quite a few interesting forum topics about them. There are two people on this thread who really are not happy with there products http://www.fccuk.org/forum/ubbthread...&Number=990626

that is some interesting reading! id not got round to researching as ive not decided on what im to do yet, but from what i gather most of the stuff they sell is standard with uprated friction material, i have a helix heavy duty clutch, all i want them to do is re line my paddle plate..... but i may hold off after that, although at the end he does say he did receive a 6 paddle plate but is yet to fit.... surely if this wa soff the same material as the original they sent he'd have noticed?......

think ill do some more digging cheers for that mate

If the paddle plate with the ceromettalic pads is not down to the rivets its probably not as worn as you think ,as there is not a lot of thickness on them to start with .
I would check very carefully how good the splines in the plate are --how much wobble on g/box shaft ,as usually by the time the pads are worn down ,then the splines will also be worn --so its not something | would do --and i would double check that they understand it is a ceromettallic pad type plate --sounds a bit cheap for a cero type plate

ive had a good check allover the pressure plate john, all seems fine, its got virtually zero wear(makes me think the friction plate is from an older of diff kit), it looks pretty much new tbh bar the surface rust, i know the driven plates dont have too much on to begin with... but this only has 1-2mm left and there is some uneven wear across the paddles, so ideally its best for me to fit a new plate or got this one redone, ive had a look about and theres seems to be mixed reviews on cg stuff, from all accounts the 6 paddle ceramettalic paddle clutches and driven plates they sell are getting very good reviews, but the oe uprated stuff seems to be getting slated.... im gonna have a good chat with one of their lads on the phone, i may just get their 6 paddle plate and get helix to refurb mine, for £50 it should do as a stop gap.... it may turn out to be very good??

    more research needed i think

I had a CG Motorsport 4 paddle ceramettalic clutch in my turbo'd vts, it handled 169ft/lb torque without slipping, is well mannered in traffic as well, I would recommend it

On the hunt for a heavy duty Helix clutch cover now thou

cheers lads, manc, was it just the paddle plate you got of them? running your stock pressure plate? if not.... why are you wanting to upgrade? and hows the car doing btw

and colin, what type of clutch of theirs are you running? and what sort of power/torqu is it making?

2mm is about new thickness of cero paddles --but you will not get full grip if using a std type cover

is that all? i thought they were about 3.5ish? mines defo worn though, unevenlly in sonme places..... iirc? think a trip to the loft is in need lol, ive got a decent cover too mate helix heavy duty

by the way john, how harsh will a 4 paddle clutch with a heavy duty cover be on a vtrt as a daily driver??? not looking for something too nasty but obviousley need something that cant take the power and some occasional abuse lol

Guess why I would need a uprated cover plate... Will all become apparent early next year dude

I had the entire clutch kit fitted to mine, here's a few pics taken from my progress thread, you really dont get much meat on a paddle clutch, hope they help...

Not sure why its a SACHS cover m8e but it seem to work

The clutch was very easy to live with as a daily drive, quite light but you had to be gentle on bite which is usual with ceramettalic clutches.

Yea me and Ben bought together, he didnt complain about it slipping either, trust me unless your running stupid power this clutch will be fine!

Yea m8e its more power, i have the BHP bug unfortunatley!!!

well im only aiming for 170, wont be over 200 if even close, so id say one of their paddles with my helix cover should do spotty dog tbh!

Mine ran 169.6bhp - 161lb/ft with the above clutch so there is no need for a Helix cover really, your choice thou...
