Power steering on and off

   Hi I've got a 2001 1.1 saxo and the power steering is driving me mad I've had none all week and today it worked as by magic then set off again somewhere and it didn't work again the battery light isn't staying on could it be a connection somewhere any help appreciated

   Please use punctuation.
   
   Give the pump itself a smack with a hammer. It should come back on again.
   Your problem is the pump itself sticking, normally a smack with a hammer frees it up.
   
   If this doesnt work it could be an electrical problem.

   I had the same problem had a new pump fitted and it randomly cuts out just give the wires a little shake and should fix it
