Help with exhaust and manifold (with pictures)

  1. #1
My exhaust has been put together a bit funny.. imo. basically the manifold is connected to a seperate section that connects to the center section. I thought the manifold connected directly to it but it is seems its not the case.. it may be bodged on but it has a standard u bracket exhaust clamp on it and i dont think that should be holding it together..

Heres what it looks like.. The manifold connects to this section before the center section. so yeah.. how is it supposed to be held together.. or should i get it welded up?
    Thanks!

    Heres a diagram.

Is it a supersprint manifold because mine came like that I just bolted it and it seems fine with no blows although other do recommend welding it for peace of mind...

On my one where you say there is a split on the bracket there is usually a bolt which goes through which you tighten when it's connected...If you don't have the bolt just get it welded.(Or find a bolt to put in...I'll try find a pic...)

    EDIT: I can't find a pic sorry..

might just get a heavy duty jubilee until i can get it welded because the clamp is pretty squeeky at times..
