smoothing boot lock

   how would you do it, could you just undo the lock bit an push it back a bit the glue it in place then skim over with filler an smooth down, or is this the wrong way? anyone no a better way?

   lol the lock is removed completely, a small plate is welded on the reverse of the bootlid then filled in, smoothed over and painted. should cost no more than £100

   100!? where you get that quote for?! average more in the region of £200! spraying full boot alone would cost 100! but welding plate and smoothing over aswell will cost more!

   and why would you have to spray the whole boot just to remove the bootlock?
