    Hi

well last night powersteering pump decided to stop working as i was going round a corner, nearly crashed into oncoming cars!!

anyway, i bought it last month reconditioned.

its making the usual squeeling noise and goes of and on as it feels like, i've checked my fluid and for leaks, i've tried hitting it as people say to do, but nothing.

Is it time for a new pump yet again? or could something else be causing it? im having trouble with it stalling when i stop, could it be linked? or 2 seperate problems?

2 problems by the sounds of it mate.

Id personlly get a new pump, I got a re-con one last year and that was a bag of shit and ended up getting a new one.

If your cars stalling when you stop the first thing I'd do is clean the ICV (Idle control valve) in the throttle, thats usualy the first place to start.

yeh, im taking care of the stalling mate, i've given it a good clean still doing it, so getting a new icv and map sensor.

cant afford a new pump thats the problem, haven't got £300-400 spare.
