Important! : Driving without PAS

  1. #1
    Hi

this is urgent as i need my car for a new job next week.

My PAS has packed in, well on and off.

Just want to know if i was to drain the pump completely, could i drive it as if i haven't got PAS? would it damage anything? is it safe?

I know this can be done with some belt driven pumps, but its an electric pump.

my cars a saxo furio x reg

and before anyone says anything, yes i have hit it with a hammer lol

hit the pump with a hammer that should get it going for another little while then try source a replacement mate

also thinking about it removing the wiring would stop the pump working but wouldnt the fluid pressure in the system stop me from being able to turn the wheel?

you want to unplug it. as its a hydrolic system, it works on the pressure. too much, too little, wrong direction etc, will fuck it up big time.
then again...damage is already done, it stops working, then you need a new one. simple.

remove it, and get a new unit at some point. not having it wont cause any harm.
