Mk1 down pipe on a mk2?

   Will putting a mk1 down pipe on a mk2 with the cat in the manifold de-cat it?

   no the fittings are different at the manifold end, as far as i know

   I put a mk1 manifold on my mk2 VTR, I had to the oil filter change etc... so it was a decat yes.
   
   Fitted fine.

   do away with the complete oil filter housing off the mk2 engine and screw the adaptor from a mk1 engine into the block in its place and fit a standard mk1 filter
