#2They usually do mate it can because of your tyres.Quote:Ive got vtr alloys on my flat arch and the other day had 3 people in the back and the wheels were rubbing when i went round a corner, does anyone else have this problem? ive seen saxos that are lowered and they dont seem to have thid problem :/
Are you using Michelin Pilot SX GT's? They always rubbed for me. -
#3not sure their not very thick, their brand new so dont see myself replacing them anytime soon. If i put wheel spacers on could this help? only thing is that they might rub on the other side with wheel spacers?
-
#4bend the lip on the arch with a hammer and buy spacers.
-
#5if its a flat arch then the inner lip may need folding out of the way if its not already been done, are your mates fat?
-
#6hah na 3 girls that arnt even big but when going round corners they rubbed :/
-
#7maybe stiffening the rear suspension might stop it rubbing if its only when going round corners
-
#8would 15x6.5 rub on a saxo cause the guy on the phone at madmotors sales team wont sell me some pro race 3's because he says they will rub but not sure if he said 15x7's or 15x6.5's ??????

#9how do you make it stiffer? how do people lower their saxos without this happening? could wheel spacers work if i flatten out the lip on the arch?
-
#10change the dampers if you havent already if you have then im clueless
-
#11na i havnt changed them would this stiffen it up then?
-
#12Uprated dampers, thicker ARB and thicker torsions bars...Quote:how do you make it stiffer? how do people lower their saxos without this happening? could wheel spacers work if i flatten out the lip on the arch?
Thats not what you need though, what you need to do is fold the lip up in the rear arch...
If you reach under you rear arch you'll feel a small lip, its this that catching on your tyres...
Pull the bump strip off the rear quarter then get some pliers and fold the lip up against the shell (only do this where the possible damage to paintwork will be hidden by the bumpstrip when refitted).
This should stop all rubbing, spacers currently will make the problem much worse, so fold the lip up (takes no more than 10 mins per side) and try it, if it still rubs make sure you've folded the lip fully and then remove the rear wheels and check if they've been rubbing on the inside of the arch, if they are rubbing on the inside then reasonable (10mm ish) spacers should stop any rubbing
Folded the lip on my flatarch to miss the VTR alloys and i've never had it rub since!

#13i think it was rubbing on the lip when cornering ye, im gna get some mates in the back and see where abouts its toching and then go about folding the lip and using spacers.
