There is dry sump kits, wouldnt see the reason to use one on a low power saxo though

Contact GMC motorsport, he's on here aswell, look in the affiltrates.

i was talking to my college lecturer the other day (im studying motor vehicle technology/ motorsport)

he said some people have claimed to have gained up to 15 bhp from dry sump kits. because the crank hasn't got to push through the oil usually sitting at the bottom of the sump reducing power.

for the costs involved a decent camshaft can get more power.

You will struggle to see an extra 15bhp from an engine which isnt producing much to begin with.

they do help on mega power engines. on a highly strung ford duratec 2.0 at my work producing roughly 285bhp it gave a few extra hp..

commonly used on high powered scoobies, not heard on one on a saxo before, as said ,its alot of money!

You are looking at about 1-2% gain on average up to about 4% with scraper plates. Considering it will cost near £2k its not really worth doing unless your car is used for racing purposes.

not feasable on a saxo --where you going to mount the 4 or 6pot exterior oil pump and where you going to drive it from --
where you going to fit your 3gallon oil tank and remote filters etc.

the pace pump I have for my XU engine bolts under the sump pan, then you run an extra crank wheel to attach the belt drive. The original owner ran pipes to the boot but thats way too much weight in oil for my liking so i'm putting it above the gearbox..
The Saxo enginebay is stupidly small though so you would not be able to have a battery there..

tank and filters go in the back either in the boot or behind the seat and the pump would fit under the alternator or directly under the crank where the sump pan sits on a standard engine

its completly possible and not that hard to do but unless your a full on race car its not worth the cost
