Cleaning Expansion Tank?

   My expansion tank is rather manky looking all brown inside and dis-coloured, you can not see through it lol.
   Does anyone know best way to clean it, or shall i just buy a new one

   fairy liquid if you're not too brave, caustic soda if you're careful,like don't get any on yourself!

   i wouldnt bother, will only end up manky again a short while down the road

   the reason its is brown coloured is cos the car is now ,or has been run for some time with no or low level of atnifreeze /corrosion inhibitorr and block has gone rusty .
   A flush with a slightly caustic solution should put all the rust into suspension --then flush out and use 50% antifreeze solution --as it was form the factory

   Its had no-antifreeze for like 3years lol, Put some in the other week tho, Looks like ill be needing a new engine soon lol
