Saxo VTR rear caliper

  1. #1
    I have a 2001 Saxo VTR on a Y plate.

Bought new pads and discs earlier for the rear and they guy in the shop said that i might need a windback tool to wind the pistons back into the callipers.

Does anyone know if this is the case or is it the pushback type on the VTR?

Never heard so much shite tbh?

Ive changed my brakes on my old VTR piece of piss, it simply unbolts the calliper off and bobs your uncle, there is a good guide on here? or 106 owners?

The rear piston doesnt simply push back in !
You have to turn it to get it back in!
Can be done with out a special tool though.
Just make sure the mc cap is undone when you do it.

Yeah if they are stuck solid they might need the rewind tool to ease them in.

The 2 calipers i had to do just wound in with a few turns with a screwdriver.Got to push them in while turning tho.

And make sure you turn them clockwise.Turn them anti-clockwise and you will extract the piston from the caliper and itl be a cunt to get back in.

I always thought pushing the piston back in with hens legs are good enough?

thats what i did on the brakes on the ZX6-r

yea the rear caliper winds back in. just get a square section and turn/push it in. if you're doing the discs too its even easier!
