Exhaust fitting on a Mk2 VTR

  1. #1
My VTR has the cat built in to the manifold and my wuestion is this....

Is a decat exhaust for a Saxo with the cat under the car a direst fitment onto my Mk2? Is it the same length and everything?

    Thanks in advance.

I believe and I may well be wrong but the cat in the manifold is the only cat in the system the box under the car is only a silencer.

I've been looking into a sportex race tube / backbox and there's no mention of the cat under the car only a silencer as mentioned

Ryan also I believe they are a direct fit yes

    Ealry cats:

I'm just unsure whether a decat system for the early type is the same length/fitment as a later cat back system?

It would make buying an exhaust a lot easier if I knew this.

I'm not sure it would be because the listings that I've looked at have said between 96-00 then there's another one which I believe is 99-01 then the other set is 00 - 04 so judging by that the answer would be no?

Anyone else who can give a definite answer?

why give a answer when you have no clue what your on about?

and yes you can change to the earlier cast iron manifold and cat under car set up mate. there exactly the same. just need the full system from the manifold to the back box.

What you need is an after market mani fold which will de-cat the car then a supersprint mid section = no restriction

it's called passing on information that I have seen. If it said for sure then yes I could have said yes. As for not knowing what I'm on about that's a useful comment, thanks

Well Im going to be keeping the standard manifold/cat. What I mean is, is the position of the flange on my manifold/cat in the same position as the flange on an earlier downpipe?

I don't know how much clearer I can be with my question. Thanks for your help so far guys.
