Saxo VTR Axle

I think my axle might be knackered, but i was changing pads and discs yesterday and i noticed there is a metal plate thing on the axle that is cracked. Its attached to the end of the main beam and then bolted on to the arm leading down to the hub/brake assembly.

Does anyone know what this does? or what it prevents?

thats the one mate, what does it do?

Its the plate that connects onto the Anti roll bar (ARB) then to the trailing arm. You wanna replace it, can probs get a second hand one for £5 if not then citroen sell them new - think theyre £30 possibly few £ more.

Dunno if this causing the problem though or jst knacked aswell.

Does this stop the the wheel from cambering in?

I know the axles on saxos are infamous for going but is this would fix the problem them its much cheaper than getting a rufurbed axle.

Sorry for all the questions mate, ime a bit useless when it comes to things like this.

Its what the forums for lol ask as many questions as you want. Unless its obvious things a search would solve.

Doubt the arb would have anything to do with the camber some of the early 106's didnt even have an ARB at the rear!

Is the camber on just one wheel? /----|? Tyre wear uneven? Does the car feel like its being taken by the wind and as though the rear end steps out?

Most likley is the beam mate. Fix the arb end plate as either way refurbing the axle or not you will need a new plate, see how its goes if it dosent solve things get a refurbed beam. Second hand beams can be fucked and you will only realise once its fitted to the car, orr it could collapse a few weeks later. Yorkie on here fitted something like 6 all of which were useless! then Settled for a refurb.
