wont start

got a annoying problem, went to start it this mornin in minus 5 weather conditions, turned key and it just went "ugh" 1nce, found out few moments later engine didnt have any antifreeze in it,thought it was batery first, so replaced it with a new one, made all the noise when tried to start but didnt actually start, just water and a muky brown substance in the coolant filler, started panicing thinkin it was head gasket so checked oil but it was black as black so dont think its that, cant remember name but think its some form of stuff u can put in to fix up a leak in the plastic or something, something a previous owner mite have done, (only got it 3 days ago), my uncle whos been in car mechanics for 30 years says i gota drain the coolant bit and put a loada anti freeze in it, dont have the antifreeze as of yet but i cant get a the plug of, if i were to be sucesful completing this, would the car start?, or is it somethin else?, any help would be appreciated, only just got my vtr and im devastated.cheers

before your car has to suffer another night of not having anti freeze in i'd suggest getting it in a warm garage, then get your rad drained and find out the damage, while your at it, get everything else checked, as it sounds like it's been looked after by a tool

yer i no, well i got like half the car in the garage, bonnet first, cant get clip of on pump, wd 40'd it up will try again tomorow, hav got as much of the shit out as poosible and put a loada water and all that was rest of my antifreeze in, (q ltr, i know bad), covered bonet in blankets and 2 high vis jackets, tried startin it again, kept triyin but didnt actually start, im peeeeeeesd of, will do that stuff tomorow, cant get to tesco to get the stuff tonight.

pretty sure block or gasket aint cracked, got the thing u put the antifreeze and water in drained and filled up again and i was told if the block or gasket cracked then it would all be on the floor, tried bumpin it twice, kinda started 2nd time, then cut out, pretty sure its a fkced earth in the alternator, gettin mechanic in tomora,

Sounds like somebody put Radweld in it mate..

Its a SHIT substance to repair the leak!

You 100% checked that the fuel is getting to the sparks etc

yer fuels gettin there, hav replaced plugs aswell, had my uncle and 2 of his mechanics in last night, the news is it was frozen when i tried to start it, the cam belt tried to go but it screwed up and now the timings out on something or anuva, basically i got it taken to his garage this morning, so within the next few hours im gonna find out if its just a cam belt replacement which he ses he can do for me this after noon,or.................because the timing was out and iv been tryin to bump it and stuff, the pistons and valves will hav knocked 7 shades of shit out of each other and ill be lookin an buyin a new top end, fingers crossed i wont be lookin for one on ebay later on, im right ticked of, wanted a vtr since i was like 14, 3 days into my ownership and this happens, and with christmas presents to get, and vat goin up next month,im a bit scared of the bill from uncles garage,not a happy chap,will update when i know,

valves were fine, thank god, just the belt thing on the right of the block was loose and the timing was out
