Clutch Fitting (Price)

   I will have my own clutch kit for fitting..
   
   Garage says 5 1/2 hours job = 220 quid just fitting
   
   Is that right ?
   
   Thought it was kinda steep for the clutch replaced even though i had the part

   Yes that is a bit steep, If you supply the clutch it would be no more that £150 for labour

   got mine done for 120 at a local garage so yea thats a tad steep :/ dirty rip off merchants!

   would pay 120 for it easily... I will be changing the box do you think the garage will charge more to swap the gearbox whilst its already off the car?
   
   Just got another quote 195 + Vat Says roughly 232 pound! Me supplying part again

   A mate of mine paid £280 on his Furio with the garage sourcing the clutch.
   I rang around for him and got quotes of up to £350 inc. parts.. So I don't think £225 is too far off.

   Its a horrible price for a clutch replacement especially as you have the part..
   
   You have to be a premium member to access it mate, it takes aboit 1-2 days if your doing it first time

   £40 per hour labour is not over priced, its not cheap either though
   
   My local mechanic charges £25 ph
   
   I would just ring a few garages and compare prices

    got a quote for 150 and they will swap boxes free if i supply the oil.. So pleased with that

    I dont mind paying the 150 for fitting cause hes swapping the box's aswell. alot better than 232 pound lol i think thats quite steep but just phoning around saves cash and the cheaper garage is closer to me aswell

    they pay so much as they make there job easier by taking the whole engine out even though it is easier to do with engine in

    I had myn done on my furio £140 supplied and fitted with a 2 year warranty.

    cant see it being 5 and 1/2 hour job, i did mine at my work using a ramp in 2 hours, then again garages will charge the book time of a job, regardless of the time it actually takes to do the job

    Yes it was women on the phone from the garage mate so she looked into the book so must be down as 5 1/2 hours book time.. Got a cheaper price anyway
