I want to know what I'd need to do to sort this out (came like this when I bought the car so just use the key to get in and out). Annoying thing is, I have to use one key to open the car and one to start it!

    and

pretty messed up as you can see. Any help much appreciated

I have inserted some playstation pad buttons on a previous fob. Was tricky to sculpt and fit but did work.

Ok wicked, thanks for that. What I'm wondering more than anything, via the photo...can anyone tell if there's been too much damage to the PCB board to simply swap them out? I've not tried unlocking it by pressing it with a byro or anything in case something goes tits up.

You look like you've done too much damage to the lock button? Its technically missing the button now?

I'm in the same boat with my unlock button

Well this is why I'm wondering about swapping over the pcb board to another shell, as mentioned by the helpful Brosnan. The only thing I'm worried about is the actual point of contact between the button and the PCB board at both points (open and lock door buttons) as in, is there anything missing there? Does it look overly fucked from the photos? I'm going to order that shell anyway as it's only seven pounds.

Getting this sorted tomorrow by this chap on ebay:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...:X:AAQ:GB:1123

Offered him £15 cash, just poppin over tomorrow as it's only half hour drive, he said it was a ten minute job at most. So I'd recommend you use him Munkyboy!

The only real problem is a microswitch is missing from the big button. You might want to desolder the old one out and stick a new one on.

It's alright, I've not got a soldering Iron or the know-how to do it, probably dead simple, but for the sake of half an hour on the M62....I might as well let this chap do it AND get a completely new fab casing! Cheers though, that's what I thought was missing and you confirmed it

Just got back from visiting Phil, mended it in under ten minutes and readjusted it to the car (did the unlock then click twice thing) and it works perfect. £15 was all it cost, nice one!
