Sorry if theis is a noob question, my mates got one but thought about it and didnt know what one is or what it does?
Why is it better than the standard one?
Cheers.
Stage 2 and 2+ clutches provide greater clamping and torque capability with mildly decreased driveability respectively. These are intended for automobiles with mild to moderate engine tuning or performance upgrades resulting in increased horse power and torque beyond that of the stock engine.

What mods does your mates car have to warrant this "stage2" clutch??

not much in most cases just a harder pressure plate to make it bite a bit harder and making it feel stiffer

a stage 2 clutch on my ek9 is a paddle clutch and uprated pressure plate with a roller bearing release bearing. totally not worth doing but lark speed were selling it off at the time as it was ex display so i got it cheap. there nasty in traffic tho as there really shit until they get hot so you stall like a bastard alot.

My god i hate it when car people talk in "stages". "Stages" are different between companies. It's not a universal thing lol

exactly!!
what one company calls stage 1, 2, 3 etc can vary so much
thats why you wont find that term used by the better tuning houses!
