sparkly paint - Update. its staying.

   ok guys im picking up a GTI on thursday.. its cheap.. but its got gay sparkly glitter effect paint..
   
   not to my taste.. but might grow on me? idk

   so the question is..
   
   keep it sparkly..
   Sand it down and re-lacquer..
   Matte black the whole car..
   other..

   I wouldnt do it but it looks abit different, modify it a bit better and the sparkles may look better.. Still looks bit ghay though.

   I always think it makes the car look dusty lol.
   
   I'd probably leave it and buy another with standard paint. Respray would be lots.

    Matte black only looks good when done properly, and on a mean looking car. like this s15 for example

    Probably was an expensive respray, some people would love a paint job like that, seems a waste to ruin it. I think you could make it work although its not my first choice of colour Defiantly don't do it matt black, that colour is generally only for temporary/low budget resprays.

    Matte Black is one of the shittest paint fashions to come about. I'd rather have the girly paint than make my car look worth about 5 pence.

    my misses dont like matte black either, but its cheap and easy to get a smooth all over coat, oh and easy to keep clean!!

    +1 i just seen new RS focus 500 in Matt black that dint look to bad but i still rather have nice color.

    I would personally respray it black with a red fleck laquer to give a red tinge when the sun shines on it

    Have to disagree i've seen some high end powerfull cars that look mean in matt black! Would have thought it would be dificult just to remove the glitter effect and re-laqaur the car without doing a full respray.
    I wouldn't respray it either tbh unless u got it stupidly cheap like under £300 or you can get a respray cheap under £1k. Or the car has things going for it that would be hard to find again- high spec, low millage, fsh etc?
    If you got it cheap just keep it until after xmas and sell it for a profit would prob be your best bet!

    just got the car home.. and its staying as is.. it doesnt look girly in the slightest.. just looks gloss black. til the sun hits it.. then it shines out and looks quite tidy! not OTT at all
