saxo 1.1 not starting

hi, i just got a saxo 1.1 1998 r reg, it wont start engine is turning over timing belt all looks ok it is sparking and can hear the fual pump prime, it had a shunt on the front ent headlight is smashed and the slam panel is a bit bent, it wont jump start just keeps turning over, tried tow starting it once it started sounded very rough then cut out, everyone is saying its ecu i dont think its the imobalise, when i turn the key the yellow key light comes on about 5 secs then goes out ? the carb/injector dosent really seem to smell of petrol, shes trying to fire up but just wont, really hope someone can help this is really confusing me and i dont know what to do

Cut off switch - its a big red button in the top right hand side of engine bay as you look at it

i have already pressed that but dosent seem to make a diffrence, if its pressed while trying to start the car atempts it but dosent aculy start

Unplug it then try, and/or unplug and jump the connections with a paper clip or something... see how that goes....

had it plugged into a diagnostic computer and its the ecu, couldnt access it atall, does anyone know where i could get one its a 1.0 saxo aparently there no numbers on the ecu

Are you 100% on that switch working properly? When its activated it cuts the connection to the ECU - this was one of the first lessons I learnt with le citroen (no connection to the ECU so i reset the switch)

If youve pushed the fuel cut off switch, then you need to tap it to reset it again. should hear a twanging sort of noise!
