im getting round to doing my conversion on my vtr to a vts now and was just thinking. iv got to put a vts radiator on it right? is the radiator fan on the outside of the engine bay (behind the bumper) or under the bonnet? and is it a single fan?

    please help!

all the vts ive seen are on the bumper side of the rad and have twin fans... im sure they make vts fans with only one fan thou too.

mine only has one fan but room for two

how would i swap the fitment for the fan from where it is on the vtr to behind the bumper? would it be easy?

you would need a differnent fan cowl mate. vtr ones and just a little frame and vts ones are a big plastic cowl

mite just try and run it on the vtr rad for now until iv saved up for a vts rad & fan. thats just typical! whenever you jhave something to look forward too there is allways fcuking something that delays it like if you ordered something for your car that your excited about, the post will take ages or there will have been a problem with the order and by the time you get it, you have changed your mind and want somethin else or have lost interest cause your that pi**ed off about it all!

cant belive you told vevery one you vtr is the same power as a vts then you do a conversion, if i wanted more power i'd of turbo'd the vtr

yer i know but the vtr has done 90k and im keepin my sax till its run into the ground! so i thought i would
A/ get an engine thats done less mileage and this vts engine has only done 45k
B/im gettin it done for free so its a lot cheaper than a turbo setup with a higher bhp capability &
C/ iv got my car looking how i want it so didnt want to get a new vts.

id of loved to have turbo'd the vtr but like i say, high mileage, and im gettin the conversion done for free and the vts/gti engine has high lift cams in it. i got:

106 gti engine 45k with high lift cams,
    aftermarket ecu worth £300,
    wiring loom,
500 mile old gearbox with a stronger diff
    all for £400

so just went for the conversion
