A Black Melted Wire?

  1. #1
Hi Friends, Today the snow pulled my brake line off, and as I was fixing it I noticed a Black Thick wire that seems to have been melted?

    Any idea what it's for?

I don't think it matters as it must have been like it for some time now lol.

It looks like just the handbrake cable outer plastic?

Well it looks like it has Electrical Wires inside, Some metal anyway, and the brake line is the long cable above it

It looks just like the plastic sheathing on the brake cable, nothing to worry about.

Mmm might be, it goes up under the wheel arch though, and it's really hard wire lol.

Yeah the handbrake cable has a metal shielding then outer plastic. If its badly knackered you'll need a new one come MOT time but its fine for now and yep its shitty weather for doing that.

Well, at least I know now lol. I didn't make sense because both ends go up into the wheel arch inside and it's melted, not cut lol.

And yes it wasn't fun lol but my brake line was dragging on the floor so I had to do it lol. Damn snow! It got me sacked today also!
